Significant frosts are expected in the second half of January.

This was reported by Natalia Golenya, deputy head of the weather forecasting department of the Ukrhydrometeorological center, RBC-Ukraine reports.

According to her, on January 5-7, night temperatures in Kyiv may drop to -5°C.

At the same time, these calculations may still change.

As Golenya noted, there will certainly be cold weather and frost in January.

"It cannot be that the whole month will be without frost, this has never happened before. Even in the warmest January of 2007, after the 20th, the temperature dropped sharply to -16...-20°С, in the northeast -23°С" , - said the forecaster.

Golenya believes that this year "there may be something similar".

"Most likely, in the second half, especially in the last decade, it may be cold, with frosts," she said.

It will be recalled that forecasters previously shared a forecast for January 2023.

So, according to forecasts, the first half of it will be spring-like warmth, but in the second half, cold weather and snowfall will come to Ukraine.

However, periods of frost will be short-lived.
