Explosions at the airfield in the Russian city of

Engels

,

which are approximately 600 km from the Ukrainian border, show the enemy that there may be new damage to their equipment.

Now the Russians do not know how far from the Ukrainian border it should be hidden.

This opinion was expressed by "Channel 24" former employee of the SBU and expert of the "Ukrainian Institute of the Future" Ivan Stupak.

According to him, the occupiers made a wrong calculation.

At the beginning of the war, "Points U" missiles began to fly to the Russian air base with helicopters in Millerovo in the Rostov region.

"What did the Russians do: they took a large map, a ruler and began to measure the distance from the Ukrainian border to Russian air bases. And they calculated which airfield the weapons in the arsenal of the Ukrainian army would not be able to reach, or if they could potentially be provided to Ukraine by NATO," - he explained.

That's how they found Engelsi's base.

However, it flew there several times.

The Russians did not understand how something flew: either from the territory of Russia, or from the territory of Ukraine, bypassing all Russian air defenses along the border.

Stupak believes that it is now difficult for the enemy to plan their next actions.

After all, now they cannot be sure that their protection systems can protect.

"If they move their aircraft beyond the Urals, then every new takeoff of planes to bomb Ukraine gives us a big gap of time," the expert believes.

It will be recalled that the first attack in Engels took place on December 5.

Two Tu-95 missile carriers

were damaged  .

In addition, as a result of the attack on the base, three Russian soldiers were also killed.

The next time, on December 26, as a result of a drone strike on the Engels-2 airfield,

the airbase's control post could be destroyed.

Three soldiers were also killed.

Already on December 29, explosions at the airfield were again reported.

According to the information of the occupiers,

the Russian anti-aircraft system was activated.
