In order for the child to receive enough

milk

, it is important to recognize them in time.

UNICEF Ukraine writes about this.

If you see that during sleep the child begins to move, open his mouth, stick out his tongue - this is a signal for attachment to the breast.

When a child is awake and begins to suck fists, fingers, turns its head to the mother's breast, opens its mouth, smacks its lips or licks them - this is also a signal that the child is hungry.

If you notice these signs, try to feed your baby as soon as possible.

If she starts to cry, it will be more difficult to put her to the breast.

The frequency of feedings will depend on your baby's needs.

In the first days, the baby should be put to the breast every 1.5-2 hours during the day.

At night, breaks can be longer - every 3 hours.

Then feed the baby on demand - as often as he wants it.

In the first few months, the frequency of feeding can be 10-12 times a day or more.

We will remind you that earlier we wrote about

why breastfeeding is so important in the conditions of war

.

It turns out that breastfeeding has many advantages.

In addition,

breastfeeding reduces the pain during vaccination of children

, because the mother's hugs, the feeling of skin-to-skin contact, sucking and milk consumption - distract and calm babies.

It is also important to take care of the

preservation of breast milk in the absence of electricity

.

For example, a refrigerator without power keeps food for up to 4 hours if you do not open the door.
