Ndugai resigns as Speaker

The Speaker of the Parliament of Tanzania, Job Ndugai, resigned from his post on Thursday January 6, 2022.

According to the letter he wrote to the General Secretary of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), he said that he made the decision to leave the position voluntarily.

"I would like to inform the Tanzanian public that today, January 6, 2022, I have written a letter to the General Secretary of the Revolutionary Party (CCM) to resign from the position of Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic." said part of the statement.

Dr. Tulia Ackson new speaker

Following the resignation of Job Ndugai as the Speaker of the Parliament of Tanzania, the Member of Parliament for Mbeya Urban, who was also the Deputy Speaker, Dr. Tulia Ackson won the position of speaker in the election held on February 1 and got all 376 votes of the members of parliament who attended the election held in the parliament in Dodoma.

Mbowe is released from prison

President Samia announced the number at the Republic Stadium in Dodoma, where he said that of the number of people, Mainland Tanzania has 59,851,357 people and Zanzibar has 1,889,773 people.

He explained that among that number, women are 31,688,790 equal to 51 percent and men are 30,53130 equal to 49 percent.

He explained that the number is an increase of more than 19 million people compared to the census of ten years ago, that is in 2012 when the number was 44,928923.
