Saket Gokhale has been arrested by the police for the third time this month.

Trinamool Congress spokesperson Saket Gokhale has been arrested late Thursday evening by the Gujarat Police from Delhi.

A senior official told that he has been arrested in connection with the alleged misuse of money collected through crowdfunding.

This is the third time that Gokhale has been arrested by the Gujarat Police this month.

Saket Gokhale has been arrested by the Ahmedabad Cyber ​​Crime Branch and is being brought here for further legal process, a senior police officer said, adding that he would reach Ahmedabad by Friday afternoon.

The TMC leader was first arrested on December 6 by the Cyber ​​Crime Branch for spreading fake news about the expenditure incurred on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Morbi following the tragedy of a bridge collapse in Gujarat.

On December 1, Gokhale had shared a news clipping purportedly obtained through Right to Information, which claimed that Rs 30 crore had been spent on PM Modi's visit to Morbi after the bridge collapse.

Soon after getting bail from the court, the TMC leader was arrested again for the same crime by the Morbi police on 8 December.

He got bail the next day.
