"I want to appeal to those who, without my consent, declared me, my relatives, a police prisoner the day before the trial.

If you consider yourself a human rights defender, then you should help people, and not create informational noise the day before the trial without the consent of family and friends.

Please do not consider me a police prisoner," Khomutovsky said in his address.

Khomutouski was convicted under Article 342 of the Criminal Code ("Active participation in group actions that grossly violate public order").

Vasyl Khomutouski was detained on September 30 after returning to Belarus from abroad.

After the elections, Vasyl condemned violence against peaceful protesters, signing a letter of Belarusian athletes "For fair elections and against violence", and left the country.
