[Compiled Zhang Peiyuan/Taipei Report] Russian President Vladimir Putin said on the 30th that he looks forward to Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Russia in the spring of 2023. Xi's trip is regarded as a public display of Sino-Russian solidarity by the Beijing authorities.

"We look forward to you, dear Mr. President, dear friend, and we look forward to your state visit to Moscow next spring," Putin told Xi, according to reports of a videoconference between the Chinese and Russian leaders broadcast on Russian state television. He also said that Xi's trip will "show the world how close Russia and China are."

In his roughly eight-minute speech, Putin said Russia-China relations were growing in importance as a factor of stability and that he aimed to deepen military cooperation between the two countries, while Xi said China had already Ready to strengthen strategic cooperation with Russia.
