Today, the Bulgarian state signed a contract with the French company "Framatom" for the supply of sevjo nuclear fuel for Unit VI of the Kozloduy NPP.

After the contract concluded with Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB for the supply of fresh nuclear fuel for Unit V of our nuclear power plant, the new document signed today takes the next practical step to ensure a diversified portfolio of fuel supplies for the nuclear power units of the headquarters.

The term of the contract is 10 years, and the first delivery of fresh nuclear fuel is expected in 2025.

Today is an important day for Kozloduy NPP.

We achieve full diversification of fresh nuclear fuel supplies.

Diversification does not mean replacing a single supplier with another single supplier.

In this way, we aim to achieve security of operation and supply, as well as economic effect.

The nuclear power plant is the pearl of our energy system and its continuous operation is important for the energy and national security of the country, commented the acting Minister of Energy Rosen Hristov.

For his part, Lionel Geff, senior vice president at Framatom, assured that the nuclear fuel for the Kozloduy NPP has been licensed and that the company is pleased to be able to assist in extending the operation of Unit VI of our nuclear power plant.

Tomorrow we sign with Framatom for fresh nuclear fuel for the sixth unit of the Kozloduy NPP
