Military expert Mykhailo Prytula suggests that Donetsk, Melitopol, Kreminna and Svatove may be liberated from the Russians in the near future.

Mykhailo Prytula said this in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua.

"Most likely, this is the liberation of such large cities as Donetsk. It is very likely. It can also be the liberation of territories that are currently captured in the Zaporizhzhia region. First of all, it can

be Melitopol

, and I think they will reach

Mariupol

, but a little later. But Melitopol will be the first city to be liberated in the near future. There is also the issue of

Svatovo, Kreminna.

These territories will also be liberated in the near future. But the logic of the actions of Ukrainian forces is such that they destroy Russian troops where they are. And "gradually, when the occupiers are already destroyed, then the Armed Forces of Ukraine advance. That is, they take over both equipment and personnel," he noted.

Prytula noted that "General Winter" is a disaster for the Russian army.

The military leadership of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation cannot adequately provide for all groups of troops fighting in Ukraine.

"Winter is always a disaster for Russia. A large amount of fuel, which the equipment needs. It involves a lot of logistics, and the Russian Federation is always bad at this. It is necessary to bring a large number of shells over a long distance. And this is also a big problem for the Russian Federation today. When all this is calculated in the complex, it turns out that it is a very big problem for Russia - to ensure the grouping of troops that it keeps on the territory of Ukraine," the expert added.

Counteroffensive in the east

The situation in Luhansk and Donetsk regions remains difficult.

On December 29, the Russian army continued its offensive in the

Bakhmut

area .

However, the Ukrainian military is approaching Kreminnaya in the Luhansk region during a counteroffensive.

According to the report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Russian military is throwing significant forces for assaults in the Bakhmut and Avdiiv areas.

The hottest thing at the front is in Bakhmut.

From October 1 to December 20, Russian troops were able to occupy the territory of 192 square meters.

km in the Bakhmut district.

Russian propagandists greatly exaggerate the successes of the Russian Armed Forces at the front.

According to the latest data from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian defenders are making progress in the direction of Svatove-Kreminna.

During the week, the Defense Forces advanced

up to 2.5 kilometers deep into Kreminnaya.
