Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the return of Benjamin Netanyahu to the post of head of the Israeli government and declared his intention to strengthen cooperation.

This was reported in the Kremlin, propagandist media write.

"I hope that the new government under your leadership will continue the line of strengthening Russian-Israeli cooperation in all areas for the benefit of our peoples, in the interests of ensuring peace and security in the Middle East," Putin said in an address to Netanyahu.

At the same time, the Foreign Ministry of the aggressor country Russia stated that it is "ready for constructive cooperation" with Israel in order to "clear the climate in the Middle East and the international arena as a whole."

The return of Netanyahu

It will be recalled that earlier US President Joe Biden

held a conversation

with the newly elected leader of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, during which he emphasized Israel's "unwavering support for the security of the US".

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi also congratulated Benjamin Netanyahu on the creation of a new government and expressed readiness for close cooperation.

It is worth noting that on December 29, 73-year-old Netanyahu was sworn in as prime minister in the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, after expressing a vote of confidence in his new government.

So, out of 120 members of parliament, 63 voted for the new government, 54 against.

It is expected that this government could become the most far-right in the country's history.

Netanyahu already served as Israel's prime minister from 2009 to 2021, as well as for one term in the late 1990s.
