The war in Ukraine will be a new difficult test in 2023 for the West.

During his visit to the USA, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked US President Joe Biden to provide Ukraine with modern tanks and aircraft.

But Washington's position on this issue has not changed.

Politico writes about it.

"Zelenskyi's main priority remains increasing the number of weapons, ammunition and equipment for Ukraine. He repeated his call during his visit to the United States — he asked Biden to provide our country with more modern weapons. Biden remained steadfast in relation to some requests for tanks, missiles and fighter jets." - reports the source.

At the same time, Biden agreed to begin the delivery of Patriot air defense systems and new precision bombs, which was considered impossible just a few weeks ago.

The publication adds that discussions are ongoing in the US regarding the supply of modern military equipment to Ukraine, as such a move could provoke an escalation of the conflict and lead to a delay in the terms of potential negotiations.

But after the transfer of the Patriot, the United States may reconsider its position as early as 2023 on what weapons it considers "escalating".

Let us add that the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, called Zelenskyi's visit to the US very successful.

He stated this in an interview with Nataliya Moseychuk, host of TSN, telethon and talk show "Right to Power" on TV channel 1+1.

It will be recalled that on December 21, US President Joe Biden

confirmed the transfer of Patriot systems to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
