The offensive of the Russian occupiers on

Bakhmut

may soon reach its climax and begin to expire.

This opinion was expressed by analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War (

ISW

).

The visit of the head

of the Military Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine to Bakhmut, Kyryll Budanov

, confirms the data that about a week ago, the Ukrainian military conducted a tactical counterattack in this direction and pushed back the invaders from the outskirts of the city.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi

also

visited the city.

The experts said their findings that Russian forces were operating in detachment-sized assault groups due to mass executions were confirmed.

Specialists have obtained a video from December 26, in which up to 10 Russian infantrymen are destroyed while trying to storm Ukrainian positions near the village of Novoselivske in the Luhansk region.

Without any support.

Although this footage is not from Bakhmut, it confirms the statement of one of the senior Ukrainian officials that the Russians under Bakhmut no longer use company and battalion tactical groups, instead they now operate in groups of 10 to 15 people.

At the same time, it is reported that the operations of "Wagner" militants in the Bakhmut area are being reinforced by the actions of Russian paratroopers.

Wagner's forces suffered heavy losses at Bakhmut and therefore probably need support from regular Russian troops.

ISW analysts said that the depletion of the forces responsible for the Bakhmut offensive could hasten the climax unless the occupying command sent its regular military units to support the offensive and delay or prevent its climax.

It will be recalled that earlier it was reported that the Russians

are using prisoners of war in the Bakhmut area to get close to Ukrainian positions

.

In addition, military expert Oleg Zhdanov previously explained

why the Ukrainian command does not bring all reserves to Bakhmut, if the Defense Forces of Ukraine are about 1.2 million people
