The anti-corruption court of Armenia refused to release former Defense Minister David Tonoyan from prison.

APA reports with reference to "Sputnik Armenia" that his lawyer said.

According to the lawyer, the lawyers of the former defense minister filed a petition for his release in exchange for bail.

The court justified the rejection of the petition by the fact that it could put pressure on the witnesses in their freedom.

It should be noted that David Tonoyan is accused of abuses in the supply of weapons and ammunition.

The former minister and those arrested with him are found guilty of buying useless rockets worth 4.6 million US dollars.
