Serbs living on the territory of
Kosovo
announced that they will begin dismantling the barricades they installed on December 29.
This was
announced
by the President of Serbia Oleksandr Vucic, Reuters reports.
Vucic said that this process will take some time and last up to 48 hours.
"This is a long process. It will take some time," Vucic said.
It will be recalled that the Kosovo Serbs set up barricades in Mitrovica
a day after Serbia placed its troops near the border on high alert
.
Vučić gave the order to put the army on alert because Pristina is preparing "to attack" the Kosovo Serbs in the north of the country and wants to forcefully remove several roadblocks that
the Serbs began to set up 18 days ago as a sign of protest against the arrest of an ex-policeman from the Serbian community
.
In turn, the lada of Kosovo
introduced special forces
to the region inhabited by Serbs.
