Tomorrow, December 29, is the

day of memory of the holy prophet Haggai

in the Orthodox calendar .

He was the tenth of the 12 minor prophets.

He created his prophecies about half a century before the birth of Christ.

When the Jews returned from the Babylonian captivity, it was Haggai who convinced them to start again the construction of the second temple in Jerusalem, saying that the Lord would soon return.

The prophet believed that all the troubles of people are due to their indifference to faith.

But people heard his words and began to rebuild the temple.

After the death of Saint Haggai, he was buried with all the honors and according to the canons of the representatives of the holy family.

He was highly respected, because he lived his life blessedly and cleanly.

In honor of the prophet Haggai, on December 29, the people celebrate Haggai the Wintercaster.
