A collaborator who helped the Russian occupiers rename streets

in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region was detained

in Kyiv .

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

The attacker turned out to be

the former manager of a utility company in Svatovo

.

After the capture of the Ukrainian city, he was

one of the first to support the invaders

and offered them his help in the war against Ukraine.

For this, he was

appointed head

of the created local "municipal unitary enterprise for improvement".

The collaborator

helped the occupation administration to organize mass events and staged TV stories

in support of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

He also carried out the order to rename the streets of the captured city with Soviet names.

For this purpose, he personally

signed the relevant administrative documents and supervised the process of "Sovietization"

of the city infrastructure.

However, during the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the

collaborator fled to the Russian Federation

, where he has been hiding since September 2022.

But later

he decided to quietly return

to Ukraine and

"get lost" in Kyiv

.

However, SBU employees exposed the attacker's plans, established the routes of his movement and detained him.

So far, the investigators

have informed him of the suspicion

under Part 5 of Art.

111-1 (voluntary occupation by a citizen of Ukraine of a position related to the performance of organizational-administrative and administrative-economic functions in the occupying administration of the aggressor state) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.
