It was preliminarily established that on the highway "Kyiv-Kovel" a 45-year-old Volkswagen driver, heading in the direction of the Rivne region, lost control and drove into the oncoming traffic lane, where he collided with a Renault Trafic car, driven by a 31-year-old resident of the Rivne region, who moved in the direction of Kyiv.

"Two passengers of the Volkswagen died on the spot from the injuries they received. The driver was taken to the hospital with injuries. Unfortunately, he died during medical treatment. Two more passengers of the same car were injured and were taken to a local hospital," the police said in a statement. .

Four passengers of the Renault Trafic were also injured.

All of them were hospitalized.
