The UOC MP stated that they are not going to comply with the decision

of the Constitutional Court

of December 27, which obliged the organization to indicate affiliation with Russia in its name.

This was

announced

by the head of the legal department of the UOC MP Archpriest Oleksandr Bakhov.

He stated that legally the decision of the Constitutional Court does not oblige the UOC MP to change its name.

"The Constitutional Court of Ukraine recognized the law on renaming as constitutional. At the same time, it is worth noting that the decision of the KSU does not oblige the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to change its name, it only concerns compliance with the law on renaming the Constitution," says the archpriest.

He stated that the organization is registered in Ukraine in accordance with all laws, and the founder is the UOC.

Bakhov also noted that the law allegedly does not say anything specifically about the UOC.

"Despite the decision of the Constitutional Court, today there are no legal grounds for changing the name of religious organizations belonging to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church," Oleksandr Bakhov believes.

We will remind you that it was previously reported that the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on December 27 published its opinion on the law according to which the

UOC MP must indicate its affiliation to Russia in its name

.

Later, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilov, stated that the UOC MP

should either recognize its affiliation with the Russian Orthodox Church, or break off relations with it
