In accordance with Azerbaijan's peace agenda in the post-conflict period, 5 basic principles related to peace were presented to Armenia in February of this year.
APA reports that Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said this today at a press conference dedicated to the results of 2022.
Jeyhun Bayramov said that at the initiative of the President of the Council of the European Union (EU), 3 meetings were held with the participation of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the Foreign Ministers were instructed to start peace negotiations in August: on the basis of which the conduct of peace negotiations was reflected.
Although the third round of negotiations was supposed to be held in Moscow on December 23, Armenia broke these negotiations."
The Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that this year negotiations were held at the level of the Deputy Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia on the restoration of transport and communication relations: "Three meetings were held on delimitation.
Despite all this, little progress has been made.
The reason for this is Armenia's non-constructive position."
Jeyhun Bayramov pointed out that this year the city of Lachin, the villages of Zabux and Sus came under the control of Azerbaijan.
The head of the Foreign Ministry reminded that Armenia violated a number of obligations of the tripartite declaration: "Information about the non-fulfillment of a number of obligations contained in the tripartite declaration by Armenia, illegal Armenian armed groups still remaining in the territories of Azerbaijan, illegal exploitation of our natural resources, and the problem of landmines is being conveyed to international organizations."
Jeyhun Bayramov said that 46 of our citizens, including 35 civilians, lost their lives due to mine terrorism this year.
