The Russian aggressors directed their main forces to capture Bakhmut, but all the enemy's attempts to surround the city proved futile.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar on the

air

of a single telethon.

Malyar noted that the occupiers cannot hold the positions they have captured in Ukraine, so they are concentrating their efforts on separate sections of the front.

"But you see how bravely Bakhmut is holding on, how much our soldiers inflict losses on the enemy, and he simply cannot advance further. There was a slight advance, but they were pushed out, and today the enemy is trying to surround the city, and he is not succeeding," said Malyar.

At the same time, the official noted that despite all the failures, the leadership of the occupiers still sets before their troops the task of entering the administrative borders of the Donetsk region by the end of 2022.
