Israel's parliament passed a series of laws this morning that make it easier to form the new government expected to be unveiled on Thursday by Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu

Benjamin Netanyahu was born on October 21, 1949 in Tel Aviv, Israel. He is an Israeli politician and, reported France Press.

Netanyahu, who along with his allies won the Nov. 1 parliamentary election, announced last week that he was able to form a new government.

However, there were doubts over whether Arie Deri, leader of a Netanyahu-allied orthodox formation, could become a minister given the fact that he pleaded guilty to tax fraud charges.

This morning, however, the deputies adopted legislation under which a person who has been found guilty of committing a crime, but has not been sentenced to prison, can become a minister, writes BTA.

In addition, Israeli lawmakers passed a law that allows two people to be appointed heads of the same ministry - thus allowing the leader of the far-right Religious Zionist Party, Bezalel Smotrich, to become the minister responsible for the civil administration of the occupied West Bank, in within the Ministry of Defense.

Parliament also passed legislation expanding the powers of the national security minister, a post expected to be filled by far-right Otzma Yehudite leader Itamar Ben Gvir.
