Muzaffarpur:

In Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, a case has come to light of land mafia fixing a deal for crores of rupees for the land of a post office built on government land.

Muzaffarpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer (West) Brijesh Kumar said that the assistant registrar had sought a report from the local circle officer in this matter, after which the sale was banned with immediate effect.

Land mafia Abdul Rahim unsuccessfully tried to sell 26 decimal land of the post office located in Motipur Bazar of Muzaffarpur for about five crore rupees but he did not get success in selling the land.

The circle officer said that this land belongs to the postal department and its deposit is maintained in the name of the postal department.

According to him, there was a fire in this post office in the 70s in which many papers were burnt to ashes and this post office was shifted to another place.

He says that seeing this land vacant, the land mafia started selling it.

He told that on the basis of the inquiry report sent from his level in this regard, the registrar banned the registration of the said plot.
