[Reporter Huang Meizhu/Hsinchu Report] A 51-year-old female owner surnamed Fan was accused of inappropriately building a 2-story iron house in Section 2, Dongning Road, Zhudong Township, Hsinchu County. 14 malnourished and unsterilized pet dogs Chihuahuas were raised.

After receiving the report, the Hsinchu County Animal Protection and Epidemic Prevention Office, together with the Association for the Protection of Stray Animals, rushed to the rescue and found 14 Chihuahuas in a building surrounded by feces and smelly. In addition to being malnourished, some of them had infected skin. Diseases, fleas, etc., so they are all confiscated and fined after the real owner of the animal is found out and whether there is any illegal breeding.

The Society for the Protection of Stray Animals stated that they received a report from county councilor Zhu Jianming that there was a house surnamed Fan in Zhudong Township.

In the past one or two years, she has been entrusted by her sister who is suspected of running an underground dog breeding farm for a long time to raise eliminated Chihuahuas on her behalf. At one time, there were as many as nearly 30 big and small dogs.

Huang Xuanfu, vice-chairman of the association, said that due to the handicapped nature of the female Fan, she could not take good care of them. As a result, these Chihuahuas had to be fed by the younger sister of the female Fan. The treatment resulted in a foul smell in the entire house, and the sanitation was even worse. As a result, the fleas were rampant, which had already affected the surrounding neighbors. The Chihuahuas of the Fan family were so hungry that they would bite and gnaw each other, and sometimes gnaw on Fan's wife.

Huang Xuanfu said that last week he went to the scene to find out that there were 17 of them, and one was dying of malnutrition. Mrs. Fan's sister "took" it to the side of the road and let it die!

Today there are only 14 Chihuahuas left, and the other missing Chihuahuas are suspected to be caused by malnutrition.

The Animal Protection and Epidemic Prevention Office of Hsinchu County stated that the breeding environment of Fan Zhai was indeed harsh. The breeding space of less than 8 ping was filled with debris and the feces on site were not cleaned up.

None of the dogs at the scene were neutered or registered for breeding. The former could be fined 50,000 to 250,000 yuan, and the latter could be fined ranging from 3,000 yuan to 15,000 yuan.

As for the behavior of improper breeding, it is true, but whether there is any intentional cruelty to death of the dog, etc., they still need to clarify, especially the actual owner is Fan Fu?

Or Fan Fu's sister?

They will continue to investigate whether Fan's sister has illegally bred dogs.

The Animal Protection and Epidemic Prevention Office of Hsinchu County went to Zhudong Fan's house today to investigate and confiscated 14 malnourished Chihuahuas.
