The winter season 2022-2023 has several new trends.

It is not only about the increase in the cost of recreation.

Tourist tastes have changed radically.

This is reported in the story of TSN.

"Having suspended work at the beginning of a full-scale war, in July Ihor Zakharenko resumed the activities of the travel agency in full. He was inspired by... the military with whom he communicated from the first days at the front as a journalist. In the breaks between battles, the boys asked about vacation destinations," - TSN journalists say.

Above all, Ukrainians want warmth and silence.

Therefore, preference is given to foreign trips: closer to the sea, away from sirens and so that you can get some sleep.

Currently, families travel: women with children, as well as men over 60 years old.

With the onset of cold weather, people went to Europe with Christmas markets.

Christmas trees shining with thousands of lights and ski resorts.

Some stay there all winter because of power outages and blackout forecasts.

Such a vacation, experts say, will now cost almost twice as much.

Fuel went up, and so did tickets.

The demand that has reappeared after the lockdowns is also indicated.

"More people are going on vacation, and prices are rising. Again, it depends on the dates. New Year's holidays are much more expensive," said the director of the travel agency Ihor Zakharenko.

"And this is already the capital of the Ukrainian tourist Carpathians - Yaremche. The displaced people, who in the first months of the full-scale invasion, filled all the hotels, schools and estates here, have now mostly left. Instead, tourists have come again," the correspondents say.

One of the largest and most expensive hotels in Yaremche is fully booked for the holidays.

Among the guests, there are many who previously had not considered a vacation in Ukraine in principle.

But when they found themselves in Prykarpattia, they discovered domestic resorts for themselves.

"From the 28th to the 8th of January, all the rooms are already booked," says the marketing manager of one of the hotel complexes.

But it's sadder in estates and mini-hotels.

After all, the guest, the owners say, has radically changed.

If earlier large companies wanted loud parties, now families go to cottages with kitchens to cook for themselves. The Carpathians have turned into a meeting place for military personnel with their relatives.

And another trend of the military tourist season: if earlier guests booked rooms for several days, now they book for at least a week.

Although prices in the Carpathians jumped by a third.

All because of problems with the electricity supply.

Everyone bought generators that require enormous costs.

We are not talking about earnings, say domestic hoteliers.

Exclusively about survival and assistance for the military.

From here, millions of hryvnias are transferred to the front, equipment, medicines and cars are bought.

And those who criticize tourism during the war are reminded: it, in addition to the psychological component, is also a part of the Ukrainian economy and hope for the future.

We would like to remind you that

although during the war we will not celebrate New Year 2023 as 2022, something needs to be done.
