The Kyustendil District Court granted a remand for Robert P. (born in Poland, with German citizenship), based on a European Arrest Warrant received on February 15, 2011 from the District Court of Lodz, Republic of Poland , until the extradition proceedings are concluded.

The warrant requests that the man be extradited to serve the remainder of a one-year, nine-month "imprisonment" sentence imposed on him on January 21, 2005, at the District Court in Łódź, R. Poland.

The measure will be tolerated under the regime of the accused in the prison in Bobov dol.

The ruling can be appealed within three days before the Court of Appeal - Sofia, the court announced.

The man (48 years old) was detained on December 23, and today the court in Kyustendil is hearing the case for his pretrial detention, the court told BTA.

In the case, it was established that Robert P. was sentenced to a total sentence of two years and 10 months of "imprisonment" for misappropriation of someone else's property and concealment of a document committed under the conditions of a dangerous relapse.

His sentence was for renting and not returning a motor vehicle worth 27,483 zlotys from a car rental company.

He served one year of this punishment.

In 2010, Polish authorities established that he was in Germany, his address information being provided by his parents.

The statute of limitations for the sentence expires in 2030, it became clear in the case.

During the hearing, the lawyer of the foreign citizen pointed out that for more than 11 years he had no other offences, during which time he traveled all over Europe as a driver.

In the case, it was established beyond doubt that it was the same person, although the identity document and the European arrest warrant listed the man under two different names - his patronymic and his surname.

They left the man who stabbed his dog and threatened to kill his wife in custody
