All districts of Kyiv currently have intermittent light supply.

However, repairs are ongoing.

Damaged nodes are still in the recovery stage, they also cannot be included in the network.

This was announced by the CEO of Yasno, Serhiy Kovalenko.

"After the latest shelling, there were acute shortages of electricity transmission nodes on the right bank of Kyiv. Their combined capacity is more than half of the consumption of the entire capital - that's how much the residents of the right bank did not receive until Friday. Due to high consumption - in some places the overload on the nodes reached 100% - we had to disconnect all three groups of the right-bank and northern districts of the city," Kovalenko said.

According to him, currently "temporary bypass schemes" have been applied, which made it possible to significantly reduce this deficit over the weekend.

Kovalenko emphasized that this is temporary.

These schemes do not provide an opportunity to return to stabilization schedules.

Another reason for frequent shutdowns, according to Kovalenko, is the local activation of automation.

"When, after long blackouts, the light is supplied, everyone begins to consume it excessively. Protecting networks from overloads, fuses are activated and automatic switches are turned off. But until users submit a request, the dispatchers do not know about it - in the network bot, you can see a message that there is light, and it is not there. At the same time, it is possible to repair such accidents only when there is voltage on the lines, so we have to wait for the next supply of electricity," he said.

Kovalenko explained why the Christmas weekend was mostly light.

According to his information, it was due to weather conditions.

The need for consumption was 10-15% less than the day before, on Thursday-Friday.

"But as long as the repairs are going on, the emergency shutdowns will continue. Unfortunately, neither the generation nor the networks provide the opportunity to switch to clear schedules yet," added YASNO's general director.
