General of the Russian army Serhiy Surovikin, who was appointed in September as the commander of the Russian forces in Ukraine, reduced the probability of a successful counteroffensive of the armed forces.

It is about the "retreat" of the occupiers from Kherson and the strengthening of the front by recruits.

This is stated in the Financial Times article.

According to the information of the provocative publication, the commander of the Russian army strengthened the front with new soldiers numbering

about 300,000 people.

The FT notes, "these stronger defensive positions reduce the chances of success for Ukraine's winter counteroffensive, which would cut the land bridge that runs along the coast of the Azov Sea and connects Russia to Crimea, although a breakthrough is still seen by Western military analysts as possible."

According to the former Brigadier General of the Armed Forces of the British Army, Ben Barry, that Russian military equipment and a large number of personnel "are worthless if the intelligence, the leadership is inadequate."

However,

the morale and determination of the Ukrainian military is still "much higher than that of the Russians."

The Russian army switched to new defensive tactics

According to British intelligence, the Russian army in Ukraine has switched to new defensive tactics.

It is about mass mining of fields.

However, as emphasized in intelligence, they can be effective only if they are covered by observation and fire.

Since October, Russian forces have mostly focused on building defensive positions in many areas of the front line in Ukraine.

According to the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, there

will be no fundamental changes on the battlefield in the near future.
