The twentieth edition of the "Bulgarian Christmas" charity initiative under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria continues.

This year the campaign is dedicated to children with rare genetic diseases.

Over BGN 2,720,000 was raised after the end of the charity performance, which took place yesterday evening at the Ivan Vazov National Theater.

To date, 350,000 donation SMSs have been sent to the number 1117 and voice calls to 0900 1117 since the beginning of the campaign, which was announced by President Rumen Radev at the end of November in the town of Veliko Tarnovo.

The amount available in the donor's bank account of the initiative is over BGN 2,310,000, and nearly BGN 60,000 was donated through the ePay.bg system.

The Christmas charity show "Bulgarian Christmas" was attended by President Rumen Radev and his wife Desislava Radeva, representatives of state institutions, diplomats, donors, ambassadors of the campaign and children helped by "Bulgarian Christmas".

Popular Bulgarian musicians, singers, dancers, actors, athletes and journalists sent messages in support of the children at the "Bulgarian Christmas" from the stage of the National Theater.

The concert was realized by the "Dream Team Productions" team and broadcast live on Nova TV and the Bulgarian National Radio.

The Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra with conductor Levon Manukyan, Orlin Pavlov, Miro, Grafa, Ljubo Kirov and Poli Genova, Vasil Petrov, Rafi Bohosyan, Doni and Netty, Lucy Djakovska, Edelina Kaneva, Desi Dobreva, Avenue duet, Vladimir Penev , Kristiyan Grigorov and Dimitar Atanasov, Veselin Marinov, Dara Ekimova, Nikola Todorov, Alexander Mutafchiyski, Neli Rangelova and vocal group "Children's World", the National Ensemble for Folk Songs and Dances "Filip Kutev",

And this year, "Bulgarian Christmas" brought together prominent television journalists who joined forces in support of children's lives.

During the concert, messages were sent by Adelina Radeva, Angel Bonchev, Nadia Obretenova, Simeon Ivanov and Stefan Shterev from the Bulgarian National Television, Nikolay Doinov, Ani Salich and Miroslava Ivanova from Nova Television, Zlatimir Yochev, Victoria Goteva, Ivaylo Vezenkov and Kristina Gazieva from bTV .

Among the advocates who called for empathy for children in trouble were the journalist Georgi Toshev, the writer Zdravka Evtimova and a group of law students.

The Olympic champions from our rhythmic gymnastics ensemble joined the cause of "Bulgarian Christmas".

Mina and Christian, two of the grown children of "Bulgarian Christmas", also called for support and sympathy.

For 20 years now, the joint efforts of thousands of virtuous Bulgarians, who make the "Bulgarian Christmas" cause possible, have confirmed the traditions of giving in the country and won public support for charity.

Thanks to the active support of donors and partners, the initiative supports an average of 500 children each year and

provides high-tech medical equipment for medical facilities all over the country.

The twentieth edition of the charity initiative will continue until the end of November 2023.

Child support applications are accepted year-round.
