Chairman of the Committee of the French Parliament on National Defense and the Armed Forces, Tom Gassilhoud, expressed his position on the negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

He emphasized that only the Ukrainian people should "decide when and how to start negotiations."

The French official said this in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua.

"We must remain modest about how the war will end. It is up to the Ukrainians to decide when and how to start negotiations. In the meantime, we must continue to support Ukraine. This does not prevent us from jointly demonstrating responsibility and moderation to avoid spiraling into a death spiral. with that, I congratulate the calmness of the Polish authorities when a Ukrainian missile hit their national territory," he said.

As for Russia's nuclear threats, according to Tom Gassilyud, Putin understood that

the West's response would be brutal.

"All major countries have spoken clearly about the nuclear threat. Putin's latest statements show that he has understood," he believes.

Will Putin use nuclear weapons?

Due to the fact that the Russian army is failing on the battlefield, the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, resorted to nuclear threats and missile terror of Ukrainians.

Analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War believe that he is not going to use it.

Previously, the former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Pavlo Klimkin, said that dictator Vladimir Putin's statements about the nuclear triad are standard "swinging the nuclear club", because nuclear weapons remain the dictator's last and only trump card.

In addition, earlier Russian political analyst Valery Solovei believes that Putin is morally and psychologically ready to use nuclear weapons, but is no longer sure that such an order will be carried out.
