With the end of the month of December, the havoc of cold is also being seen.

Due to the cold wave, the people of the capital were shivering with cold for the whole day even on Christmas day.

The capital Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 5.3 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning, which is three notches below normal.

The minimum temperature in the Ridge area was recorded at 4.9 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal, making it the coldest place in the capital.

'Dense' to 'very dense' fog prevailed in parts of the National Capital Region and Haryana, Punjab, West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan.

According to the forecast of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), foggy conditions will continue in these areas for the next few days.

Even today, there is no hope of relief from the cold.

The weather has become very cold in the entire North India including Delhi NCR.

However, it was a matter of gratitude that due to sunlight in many places during the day, people definitely got relief from the cold.

Severe outbreak of cold wave is being seen in many places including Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar.

Meanwhile, rain is expected to continue at many places in South India even today.

On Sunday, the minimum temperature of the capital went down around 4 degrees.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 16.2 degrees.

Which is 5 degrees less than normal.

At the same time, the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.3 degrees.

It remained 3 degrees below normal.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature was 14.1 degrees in Palam, 15 degrees in Gurugram, 14.5 degrees in Ghaziabad, 13.7 degrees in Jafarpur, 13.4 degrees in Mangeshpur, 15.5 degrees in Najafgarh, 15.6 degrees in Noida, 15 degrees in Mayur Vihar.

While the minimum temperature of Lodi Road was 5 degrees, Aya Nagar's only 3.5 degrees and Ridge's 3 degrees.

According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog remained in many parts of Punjab and Haryana.

Bathinda in Punjab recorded a minimum temperature of three degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal, Amritsar recorded a temperature of four degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana, the industrial hub of Punjab, recorded a temperature of 5.6 degrees Celsius.

Pathankot, Faridkot and Gurdaspur recorded minimum temperatures of 6, 4.6 and 5.5 degrees Celsius respectively.

Chandigarh, the union territory that is the common capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a minimum temperature of 6.6 degrees Celsius.

Hisar in Haryana recorded a minimum temperature of 3.7 degree Celsius.

Ambala recorded a minimum temperature of 6.9 degrees Celsius, while Narnaul, Rohtak, Bhiwani and Sirsa recorded minimum temperatures of 4.2, 5.8, 5.3 and 6.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The weather office said that cold day, cold wave conditions are expected to prevail for the next two days and subside after that.

There is a possibility of dense fog in Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan till December 27 and after that it will decrease.

The Meteorological Office has predicted scattered snowfall in the Western Himalayan region under the influence of Western Disturbance.

Another Western Disturbance is likely to hit the Western Himalayan region on the night of 29th December, under which scattered rain and snowfall are expected in the region.
