According to him, at least 50 Russian soldiers were killed in the fierce fighting.

The number of injured Russian soldiers is 80. However, this data cannot be verified by independent sources.

Bakhmut is perceived as a critical point on the front in eastern Ukraine.

A breakthrough by Russian forces would allow them to penetrate deep behind Ukrainian lines.

At the same time, the head of the administration of the Luhansk region, Sergii Haydai, said that alongside the regular Russian forces, mercenaries from "Wagner" and Chechen fighters sent by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov failed in the Bakhmut attack.

"They wanted to show the grandfather of the bunker (Vladimir Putin) what they can do, but so far they are only losing thousands of soldiers who will stay there forever," Haiday said.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian armed forces said at least 70 Russian officers were wounded in an attack on a Russian command post in the Kherson region of southern Ukraine.

The attack was carried out by Ukrainian forces during a military meeting in the village of Zabarine.

It is not clear how many people were killed there.

Ukrainian fighters have attacked Russian command centers and posts repeatedly since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, locating radio traffic or the mobile phone network.
