From January 1, clergymen of the UOC (MP) may be denied access to the main temples of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra - the Dormition and Tabernacle Cathedrals.

This was announced by the scandalous vicar of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavlo (Lebid).

The video of his speech was published by journalist Sonia Koshkina.

"I have learned that these are not accurate rumors yet. Our lease agreement for the Tabernacle and Dormition Cathedrals is expiring. They secretly confirmed to us that next Sunday or Saturday we will not be allowed to enter these churches - neither to one nor to the other. I tell you I'm saying this today so that they can hear who we voted for," Metropolitan Pavlo said to his parishioners in Russian.

According to the metropolitan, "those for whom we voted are now making inroads against the church (UPC MP. - Ed.). Pavlo complained that he called the Minister of Culture several times, but Oleksandr Tkachenko allegedly "never picked up the phone."

Tomorrow, December 26, at 10:00 a.m., the hierarch will have a meeting with the director of the state reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra".

The Ministry of Culture has not yet commented on Metropolitan Pavel's statement.

There has been no official confirmation of this information yet.
