In the village of Hockley, in the east of England, on the eve of Christmas, a

fire

broke out in one of the houses , emergency officials suspect that the cause of the fire was a dog that accidentally turned on the hair dryer.

BBC writes about the story.

So, according to one of the firefighters, while the owner of the house was outside, the dog may have jumped on the bed and turned on the hairdryer, which was not turned off from the socket, as a result of which the bed and mattress caught fire.

"The owner of the house was outside, and when she returned she saw that her house was full of smoke," the fireman said.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire quickly, it did not have time to spread beyond the bedroom.

The woman and the dog were treated for smoke inhalation in the house.

It will be recalled that

one of the strongest storms in recent years hit the United States -

at least 16 people died as a result of the storm.
