Last night, the Keelung City Party Headquarters of the Democratic Progressive Party officially issued a statement that Keelung City will form a cross-party supervision alliance with the People First Party for the election of the chairman and deputy speaker.

Since the election of the chairman and deputy speaker is a registered ballot, when the 31 members voted by roll call one by one, at 10:30, the votes were counted one by one. A long time later, Zhang Fangli, a senior member of the Kuomintang and former speaker of the House of Representatives, defected and voted for Tong Ziwei of the DPP.

As a result of the election, 12 votes from the Democratic Progressive Party, 1 vote from Zhang Fangli, 1 vote from Yang Xiuyu, and 1 vote from non-party Lin Minxun and Chen Mingjian, for a total of 16 votes.

The DPP finally established a beachhead in the Keelung City Council at the head of Taiwan, and Tong Ziwei won the Keelung City Council Speaker.
