The Sukhothai sank about 20 nautical miles (about 37 kilometers) off the coast of the Gulf of Thailand on December 18. Afterwards, 76 crew members were lucky to be rescued, but so far 18 people have been confirmed dead.

The Royal Navy pointed out that they are still continuing to send helicopters and warships to search and rescue, hoping to find survivors.

Royal Admiral Chonlathis Navanugraha said on Tuesday that the Sukhothai disaster was "one of the worst tragedies" in naval history.
