The Ukrainian leadership is actively working to ensure that the USA transfers more Patriot air defense systems, which are so necessary to protect Ukraine from Russian attacks.

Oksana Markarova, Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA, said this on the air of the telethon.

The diplomat emphasized that in Washington, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the fact that Ukraine needs more weapons.

However, she noted that the US decision to transfer one Patriot battery to Ukraine is "truly historic".

This will open the possibility for all other partner countries that also have these systems to make similar decisions.

"We can not only expect, but we are working on it. I can quote President Zelensky at his press conference with Biden: "I can say thank you for the Patriot systems and the next message is that we need more Patriot." I hope that we can contract some systems for the future," she said.

According to her, there are concrete results of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi's visit to the USA.

Markarova pointed out that after the speech of the head of state in the US Congress, decision-making on aid to Ukraine intensified there.

"In a day, while we were returning to Ukraine, we already had concrete, serious results - a draft law on the possibility of bringing Russian criminals to justice in the United States, and $45 billion in aid to Ukraine, and an amendment authorizing the US prosecutor to use confiscated Russian assets as aid Ukraine, and work on the security package, which includes Patriot, but there are not only them, there are many new capabilities," Markarova clarified.
