Today, December 24, the Russian occupiers once again set fire to the center of

Kherson.

This was announced by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko. 

"The Russians have carried out another terror - they shelled the city center! People died, buildings were destroyed. The city center, a day off, many people on the street," he wrote.

At least 5 dead and 20 wounded are currently known.

Currently, all services are working at the scene of the tragedy.

Earlier it became known that over the past day, December 23, the Russian army fired artillery, rocket launchers, mortars and tanks

at Kherson Oblast 71 times.

Five people died, 17 were injured.

A six-year-old girl is among the injured.

She was taken to the hospital with multiple shrapnel injuries.

The child is in serious condition.

According to OVA, 36 shellings of Kherson were recorded during the day.

The Russian occupiers ransacked the residential quarters of the city.

Critical infrastructure facilities, kindergartens, schools, hospitals, shops, factories, private and apartment buildings were hit.

Since the Ukrainian military returned 

Kherson

 to Ukrainian control on November 11, the occupiers have continued massive shelling of the city and the region almost daily.
