Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation (AKAF) has implemented the next project.

APA reports that the Federation has officially started its activities in Baku - on the Caspian Sea.

In this regard, exemplary performances of rowers and an event were organized on the territory of Baku Boulevard.

The event was attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, Deputy Minister Mariana Vasilyeva and other officials.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Farid Gayibov spoke about the activities of the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation in 2022.

The minister highly appreciated the "President's Cup" and "Mingachevir Regatta" tournaments held in Sugovushan, which was liberated from occupation, and wished success to the federation in its future activities.

Later, the European sea rowing champion, silver medalist of the world championship, Diana Dymchenko, the winner of various international tournaments, Zia


Mammadzadeh, as well as other members of the national team,


performed exemplary performances in sea rowing, academic rowing, kayaking and canoeing, as well as in boats designed for tourists.

The performances of the athletes were greeted with great enthusiasm by the residents of the capital.

One of the main reasons for restoring rowing in Baku, on the Caspian Sea, is to make this sport accessible to teenagers and young people living in the capital, to


achieve and develop the masses.
