The Kremlin will most likely blame the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov for all the failures of the war in Ukraine, because Putin's regime desperately needs to find an extreme one.

This opinion was expressed by a military expert, deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (2006-2010), reserve general Ihor Romanenko, FREEDOM informs.

According to the expert, Gerasimov's military career is actually over and his release is only a matter of time.

Romanenko is certain that Gerasimov will be blamed for both military failures and problems in the Russian army, in particular regarding the increase in its numbers.

"He will become the official scapegoat in this war," said a certain expert.

"The question of form remains... This is a reserve waiting for the moment when it will be necessary to clearly name the culprits. The culprits are already among the military, they changed, somehow there was a couple released," concluded Romanenko.

Earlier, the assumption about the release of Valery Gerasimov was made by the Minister of Defense of Great Britain, Ben Wallace.

In his opinion, Putin does not want to be blamed for failures in the war, so he will shift the responsibility to Gerasimov.

British intelligence suggested that at the staged meeting with the military command, in particular with Gerasimov, Putin probably intended to demonstrate collective responsibility for conducting a "special military operation."
