Ukrainians are trying to survive without

electricity

, water and heat in settlements whose infrastructure was damaged by Russian attacks.

People resort to life hacks to make their lives a little easier.

What is the situation in the cities most affected by the enemy's actions: Dnipro, Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv and Mykolaiv, according to the story of TSN.

The situation in the Dnipro

There is in Dnipro

record holders of the last blackout in the city.

Some houses were without electricity for 5 days, without heat and water for almost two.

Iryna, a local resident, says that it was the most difficult time without communication, because she could not work.

However, he recalls, the support of the neighbors worked wonders.

"Our neighbor on the first floor, on the second day of no electricity, wrote in the home chat that he had a generator and that people should come up who needed to charge. We had our own Point of Invincibility. For several hours, everyone stood and talked, that was the mood. We will survive." - says local resident Iryna Rudenko.

When there is no electricity for five days, it becomes brighter in the head, jokes Ms. Iryna and shows the water reserves and the lamps made by herself.

Life Hack was spied on the Internet.

They bought diode lamps and batteries.

It turned out cheap, within 30 hryvnias, and bright.

Most of the boiler and pumping stations in Dnipro are working.

However, there are emergency stops due to lack of electricity.

So everyone is advised to have a strategic supply of water.

But they promise to save the heating.

"This year, for the first time, considering such a difficult situation, they started adding a special solution to the heating system so that in the event of a complete blackout, we do not have Alchevsk again," said Deputy Mayor of Dnipro Mykhailo Lysenko.

Dnipro doctors are also ready for blackouts.

All are equipped with generators and at least a month's supply of fuel.

It is more difficult with electric transport.

Since the last massive shelling on December 16, he has not been on the routes.

Even the rails managed to rust.

Yesterday, trolleybuses and trams were partially removed during rush hours.

The situation in Kyiv

In the capital, the situation

with communal goods is currently one of the most difficult.

The enemy damaged more than 60% of transformers in the city.

Because of this, some areas are without electricity for several days.

It is most often turned off in an emergency, so we are not talking about clear graphics.

The lack of electricity, on the other hand, entails a lack of water, heating, internet and communication.

Many people go to points of invincibility.

The KMDA does not exclude the possibility that the enemy may continue shelling and plunge the city into complete darkness.

In this case, only critical infrastructure and hospitals, pump stations and Points of Invincibility will work.

But the subway will not function - instead of it, buses will run.

The most difficult thing is, they say, with heating systems.

In the case of force majeure, options are considered when they will circulate or cold water so that the pipes do not freeze.

Or the water is simply drained from them temporarily.

People are advised to have a supply of water, if possible to charge batteries.

The situation in Odessa

Three-day blackout, lack of light, water, heat and communication interruptions.

Three weeks ago, Odesa experienced the most serious rocket attack.

Two thirds of the energy was lost.

Electric transport stopped completely in the city, and the only islands of stability were Points of Invincibility, where people could warm up and drink tea.

That difficult time changed the people of Odessa, remembers Odesa student Ivanna.

"People were moving among themselves, helping each other. They brought chargers, different wiring. That is, they came up with something. It was quite impressive," the girl says.

Odesa residents, realizing that the shelling may not stop, began to prepare for life without communal services.

"Well, we have water supplies just in case. We're coping, there are candles. Children are afraid in the dark, but we are near," says a local resident.

Nowadays, the light only goes out for a few hours, not days.

Water and heat were restored.

The work of heating stations is now the main priority, say the Odesa City Hall.

Now, all one and a half hundred large and small boiler houses are working stably.

However, the authorities are urgently looking for 11 generators of extra power around the world for backup operation of large city boilers.

Four have already been found.

"It will be warm, we will fix everything else, because water supply is also possible as an alternative, we can bring water trucks as a last resort, and if there is no heat, it is a catastrophic situation," said Oleg Bryndak, deputy mayor of Odesa.

The situation in Kharkiv

In Kharkiv, practically all houses have electricity again.

However, it is regularly turned off.

However, most often, locals say - according to the schedule.

It's a bit more complicated with water - it's not everywhere yet.

Utilities are mainly connected to houses where all the people live on the riser.

To make sure that the pipes did not burst and no one was drowned.

The worst situation is currently in Saltivka.

After the Russian shelling, many damaged houses remained there.

They are currently completely cut off from public utilities.

People only occasionally visit there to check if their property has survived.

Another 50 houses that were destroyed or damaged as a result of shelling were not connected to heating.

More than 2,000 people from there were resettled in dormitories by local authorities.

However, there are those who have decided to stay in their apartments.

"Or we turn on the gas, the oven is there... If you cook something in the kitchen, then you are there. And yes, there is a heater, but if there is no light, then nothing," says a local resident.

The situation is more difficult, they say, in the de-occupied areas of the region.

However, even there, as of now, more than 80% of houses have been restored to power.

The situation in Mykolaiv

Half a million Mykolayivs have been living without full-fledged centralized water supply for almost 9 months.

The occupier blew up the pipes that supplied water from the Dnipro.

A month later, water did flow from the taps, but it was already salted.

It can be used to a maximum for technical needs.

Why - an example can be seen on rusty faucets in apartments.

Due to the fact that the water is salty, breakthroughs often occur.

They hope to restore fresh water supply in the city soon.

At the same time, with light and heating, they say, Mykolaiv is relatively stable.

Electricity is turned off according to schedule, there is heat in most areas.

People treat communal troubles with understanding.

They are sure that after the victory, the usual comfort in the house will return.

The situation with electricity in Ukraine

As of December 23, the capacity deficit in the Ukrainian power system

has slightly decreased, but remains significant

.

As a result of Russian shelling in the frontline areas, there is new damage to the power grids.

At the same time, there are certain restrictions in the electricity transmission system caused by damage to main networks.

In this regard, consumption limits have been set for all regions.

Exceeding them leads to the application of emergency restrictions.

The Cabinet of Ministers ordered all regional energy companies of Ukraine to correct violations in their work by December 31.
