"So far, the number of tourists visiting Turkey from Azerbaijan has exceeded 500,000."

APA reports that Nadir Alpaslan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, said this in his statement to journalists.

He said that the year is not over yet and the number of visitors is increasing.

"We have just approached the indicators of 2019. Our goal is for more than one million Azerbaijani tourists to visit our country in a short period of time. Of course, this is not unilateral. We are considering what measures can be taken to increase the number of people visiting Azerbaijan from Turkey."

Nadir Alpaslan added that in this sense, it is very important that the travel is comfortable and the prices are more accessible.

"Turkish Airlines" currently operates about 30 flights per week. It is important to increase this further. "Pegasus" and "AZAL" are working in this direction. Flights are not only made to Baku, but also to Ganja and Nakhchivan. increasing the price and convenience, as well as making the price and comfort more favorable, is very important in terms of increasing travel between the two countries. There is great interest from Azerbaijan to Turkey's holiday regions, especially Antalya and Bodrum. Azerbaijan has a strong event tourism infrastructure. As a result of joint promotion, the flow of tourists between the two countries will increase. I think we will succeed in increasing it," he said.
