additional financing of aid to Ukraine

for the next year, which is provided for in the US budget for 2023.

In particular, funds will be allocated to:

defense assistance

($28.4 billion)

  • 9 billion dollars

    within the framework of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative.

    It also enables the US Secretary of Defense to accept contributions from partner countries in support of Ukraine;

  • 11.88 billion dollars.

    to replenish the American stockpile of equipment sent to Ukraine through the presidential drawdown;

  • 6.98 billion dollars.

    to the European Operations Command and related activities – for mission support, intelligence support, payroll, equipment, etc.;

  • 6 million dollars

    for the Inspector General of the US Department of Defense.

    The Act requires a report from the Inspector General on the use of funds provided for in the Act, and also requires a report from the US Department of Defense on measures taken to ensure enhanced end-use control of equipment provided to Ukraine.

  • Increasing the maximum amount of defense equipment for Ukraine, which the US President has the authority to transfer to Ukraine, to $14.5 billion.

    The US State Department for security assistance to Ukraine and other allies.

Economic aid

 ($13.37 billion)

    economic and budgetary support for the Government of Ukraine, including support for Ukraine's energy security and other critical infrastructure needs, as well as for assistance to other countries affected by the situation in Ukraine.

Humanitarian aid

 ($4.92 billion)

    in the form of humanitarian aid to ensure the acute humanitarian needs of Ukraine, Ukrainian refugees and other vulnerable sections of the population.

    The US Department of Health and Human Services for assistance to Ukrainians arriving in the US as refugees, including housing, language courses, retraining, etc.;

  • 50 million dollars

    for grants under the Food for Peace program;

  • 5 million dollars

    to the McGovern-Dole Food for Education and Child Nutrition program;

Other expenses

($600 million)

  • 166 million dollars.

    for the State Department and USAID to respond to the situation in Ukraine, including $13.5 million.

    for the offices of the Inspectors General of the State Department and USAID to supervise the implementation of aid measures to Ukraine;

  • 300 million dollars

    to the US Department of Energy for advanced nuclear reactors and nuclear fuel to enhance energy security and independence;

  • 126.3 million dollars.

    the National Administration of Nuclear Safety to prepare for and respond to potential nuclear and radiological incidents in Ukraine;

  • 7.5 million dollars.

    for the Government Accountability Office to provide oversight of US aid to Ukraine.

  • 1 million dollars

    US National Security Agency to support White House operational needs related to Ukraine.

The ambassador thanked American officials and all American taxpayers for the assistance to Ukraine, which every day will save the lives of Ukrainians and liberate the land from the occupiers.

US aid to Ukraine

We will remind that the final approval of the US budget for 2023, where the funds for Ukraine will be allocated, in the House of Representatives is

expected by the end of Friday, December 23, after which it must be signed by US President Joe Biden by the end of the day

US Senate approved the budget for 2023 with a record $45 billion for Ukraine and NATO allies

The draft law was adopted

by the upper house of the US Parliament 68 to 29, easily overcoming the threshold of 60 votes.
