After overcoming Russian aggression, Ukraine will become a member of

NATO

on radically different terms than it could have happened between 2008 and 2022, when the state was denied entry due to intimidation by the Kremlin.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba stated this at the conference of ambassadors of Ukraine.

The minister reminded that before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Ukraine really needed to join NATO precisely so that Russia would not attack.

However, Moscow intimidated the allies and we were denied protection.

"But now the situation is fundamentally different. With the strong support of the same allies, but now it is our army that beats the aggressor. Having overcome the Russian threat not only to ourselves, but also to the Euro-Atlantic space, we will become a participant in collective security on fundamentally different terms than could happen between 2008 and 2022," Kuleba said.

The head of the Foreign Ministry emphasized that Ukraine is already a

strong military power that fundamentally changes the military balance in the region and acts as a security donor for NATO,

and will not be "a poor relative" hidden under the wing of NATO's fifth article.

"And today, don't listen to those who talk about the impossibility of Ukraine's membership in NATO. We have already been through it. If we do our job well, tomorrow they will sing hosanna to Euro-Atlantic Ukraine," he concluded.

Ukraine's entry into NATO

By the way, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that a preliminary condition for consideration of Ukraine's membership in the Alliance is victory over Russia.

As reported by the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna,

all 30 NATO member countries agree

with the need for Ukraine to join the Alliance.

In turn, Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu says that Ukraine will become a member of NATO, but it will definitely not happen tomorrow.

However, this issue, as he said, is

on the table.

As for joining the EU, according to the Estonian minister, thanks to the support of "friends", this road will be shorter for Kyiv.
