The visit of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi to the USA is a very powerful signal for

Ukraine

that the Western world is with Ukrainians who are fighting against the Russian invaders for their independence.

This was stated by Father Yaroslav Kravets, vicar of the Vicariate of Ukraine, who is in Kyiv, in a conversation on RMF FM.

"I think that the most terrible thing during war is to be left alone - both in a very human and political sense. Therefore, I think that Zelensky's visit to the United States is a very reinforcing signal for us in Ukraine that the Western world, especially America, with us," he says.

Speaking about how it is to celebrate Christmas when people are dying in Ukraine, there is no electricity, water, or gas, the father said - "this is something very dramatic."

"Soldiers who fought at the front said: 'Don't take away the atmosphere of Christmas from our families'. That's why, for example, a Christmas tree was put up in Kyiv. I was walking there yesterday. Many people gather there, there are children, families take pictures. You can't to deprive the Ukrainians of this Christmas atmosphere - and this is what the Russians are doing in a very cruel way," emphasizes Father Yaroslav Kravets.

Father Kravets recently visited Kherson Oblast, Izyum, Balaklia of Kharkiv Oblast and other cities of eastern Ukraine that were liberated from the Russian occupiers, and he was very surprised by the desire of Ukrainians to return to places that still suffer from the terror of the Russian Federation.

He noted that in a conversation with the locals, he discovered that they want "to be in the place where they were born and grew up."

"These people say: we are leaving quickly, we are not gathering, because in a moment we will be tracked by drones, maybe there will be shelling. In a moment they add: we will be here, help us. We do not want to leave our homes," he recalls and adds , - "

So help us survive, give us what life gives

."

It will be recalled that Mykola Povoroznyk, the Deputy Chairman of the KMDA, announced that

there will be no mass celebrations in Kyiv this year

for the New Year 2023.

As the latest survey showed,

in Poland 70%

citizens support the acceptance of Ukrainian refugees.

K

one in four Poles is in favor of refugees remaining in their country after Ukraine's victory in the war.

In addition, approximately one in three polled Poles believes that thanks to Ukrainians, their society will be culturally enriched, and Poland's role on the international arena will strengthen.
