On Thursday, December 22, queues of hundreds of cars formed

on the western 

borders of Ukraine.

Most cars are stuck in traffic jams on their way to Poland.

This was reported by the press service of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Service on Facebook.

According to the border guards, as of

 12:00 p.m.

queues at the border with Poland for departure from Ukraine

, recorded at the following checkpoints:

  • "Ustylug" - 120 l/a, 0 buses (pedestrians are not allowed);

  • "Ugryniv" - 100 l/a, 0 buses, 0 pedestrians (pedestrians are only allowed to exit for the purpose of evacuation);

  • "Rava-Ruska" - 120 l/a, 7 buses, 0 pedestrians (pedestrians are only allowed to exit for the purpose of evacuation);

  • "Grushiv" - 90 l/a, 12 buses, 0 pedestrians (pedestrians are only allowed to exit for the purpose of evacuation);

  • "Krakivets" - 120 l/a, 13 buses;

    (pedestrians are not allowed to pass);

  • "Sheghini" - 130 l/a, 10 buses, 100 pedestrians (pedestrians can pass in both directions);

  • "Smilnytsia" - 90 l/a, 3 buses, 0 pedestrians (pedestrians are only allowed to exit for the purpose of evacuation).

Queues are also recorded at the borders with other neighboring countries. 

Slovak Republic:

  • "Maly Berezny" - 45 l/a, 0 pedestrians (pedestrians are allowed to pass in both directions);

  • "Uzhgorod" - 80 l/a, 0 buses (pedestrians are not allowed to pass).

Hungary:

  • "Tysa" - 50 l/a, 25 buses;

    (pedestrians are not allowed to pass);

  • "Kosino" - 15 l/a, 0 pedestrians (works from 08:00 to 20:00);

  • "Luzhanka" - 20 l/a, 0 pedestrians.

Romania:

"Porubne" - 70 l/a, 0 buses, 0 pedestrians.

Only at the border with Moldova were there no queues to leave Ukraine.

Situation on the western borders of Ukraine

An unstable situation with electricity is possible at checkpoints.

Electronic control systems can fail.

Therefore, travelers are asked to consider all circumstances when planning their route. 

It is expected that

queues, at least for passenger cars, may decrease after Christmas

- December 25.
