Member of the European Parliament from Lithuania, Rasa Yukniavicene, suggests that the letter that the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev gave to the Chinese leader Xi Jinping from Putin probably called for an attack on Taiwan so that the West and the United States would stop helping Ukraine.

This opinion was expressed by the member of the European Parliament, the deputy head of the Security and Defense Committee and the former Minister of Defense of Lithuania Rasa Yukniavicene in an interview for TSN.ua.

"I think that Russia's agony began on February 24. That was my first thought when I saw these missiles in the sky of Ukrainian land that morning. Then I thought that this was the beginning of the end. Because it is simply impossible to imagine that such aggressive states on the European continent could to achieve victory. But at that time, of course, few people thought that Ukraine would resist this aggressor so strongly.

And now we have come to the moment, which, I don't know how this visit of Medvedev and where we are now will be described in history books," she noted.

The MEP believes that the Chinese leader "will not follow Putin's lead".

However, the Kremlin is confident that the opening of a second front for the West and the USA will help the Russian army in the war in Ukraine. 

"This is how I think about this situation. They (Russia - ed.) are in despair. But I am not sure that China will so easily, especially at this moment, follow the lead of the Kremlin and Putin, when many understand that they could not take Ukraine on the front.

so that some kind of second front opens up for the USA, so that the USA and the West do not have enough forces to fight on two fronts and help. This is what the Kremlin thinks, such they have hopes. But this does not change the fact that we must help and defeat this evil together with Ukraine. This evil must leave the European continent. And this is clear to all people of good will," she emphasized.

We will remind, on December 21, when Zelensky was flying to Biden, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmytro Medvedev arrived in Beijing and met with the leader of China 

Medvedev allegedly also delivered a letter from Putin to the Chinese leader in Beijing. 

The day before, on December 20, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, during a phone conversation with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, 

 to end the war in Ukraine.
