, a man killed his roommate out of jealousy of his ex-wife.

The person involved reported the incident to the police himself, who waited for the arrival of patrol police officers.

This was reported by the communication department of the Kyiv region police.

"The law enforcement officers found out that the two men met when they were on business near the post office in Bila Tserkva. Due to a long-term animosity, which was accompanied by jealousy, the 38-year-old criminal took an ax from his car and struck the victim with it several times on the head. Then the offender pushed the victim into the passenger compartment of the car, punched and strangled him until he made sure that the 36-year-old opponent did not show signs of life," the police said.

The police took the detainee to the detention center.

Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Bilotserkiv district prosecutor's office, informed the perpetrator of suspicion of intentional homicide (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code).

The jealous man faces up to 15 years behind bars.
