Markus Faber, the representative of the defense policy of the leading Free Democratic Party of Germany, suggested to Chancellor

Olaf Scholz

to transfer to Ukraine the "obsolete" modification of the Patriot - PAC-2.

He wrote about it on his Twitter.

According to him, in the coming years, Germany will replace this version of the air defense system with new systems.

At the same time, Faber stressed that the Armed Forces currently need such weapons.

"Zeitenwende means helping with PAC-2 as well. In the coming years, our old PAC-2 will have to be replaced by PAC-2 GEM-T and PAC-3. In Ukraine, before the end of their service life, they can still contribute to air defense from cruise missiles and drones ", - noted Faber.

The German politician noted that even such an "outdated" modification" could provide real help against Kremlin terror before it is decommissioned.

"Either the democracies of the world win together in Putin's war of aggression, or they lose individually. Aid comes from Estonia and Australia. Aid from Germany should be of a size corresponding to the size of the fourth largest economy in the world," the Bundestag deputy emphasized.

We will remind you that in Germany they declared that

they could not transfer SAMs to Ukraine

due to the insufficient number of them at their disposal.

In Berlin, they assure, they say, everything has been handed over to Poland and they no longer have these systems.

In turn, US President Joe Biden

confirmed the transfer of Patriot systems to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The White House also announced the allocation of up to one billion dollars in military aid to Ukraine.
