The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, said that the United States and Ukraine "led the Kremlin by the nose" by promising peace agreements.

He spoke about this at a press conference on Thursday, December 22.

"We endured, endured, endured, hoped for some peace agreements, now it turns out that we were led by the nose," Putin said, adding that such a country, the United States, "has been doing this for a long time."

With the current events, as the Russian president called the war in Ukraine, the USA seems to have achieved its result.

"We had no choice but to take those actions [that is, the war in Ukraine] that were started at the end of February this year," he tried to explain the aggression.

Putin cynically called the goal of the war in Ukraine "the protection of people who feel that they are part of our people, part of our culture."

"What did we come from in our time?

Well, well, the Soviet Union has ceased to exist, but our common historical roots, the roots of culture, spiritual community, they will be stronger than what is stretching us," said the Russian president.

Putin, according to his custom, named "foreign forces" and extreme nationalists who came to power after the collapse of the USSR as the culprits of the loss of the "common roots" of Ukrainians and Russians, without specifying, of course, in which state.

It will be recalled that earlier the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, who gives orders to strike against civilians of Ukraine, said that he still considers the Ukrainian people "brotherly".
