Ukrainian diplomat, ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Volodymyr Ogryzko believes that it is not worth listening to statements from Minsk, since Lukashenko has not controlled the situation in Belarus for a long time.

He said this in a comment to "Espresso".

Ogryzko believes that if Putin launches an offensive from the territory of Belarus, then "Lukashenko will learn about this attack from the newspapers", since the dictator has long not reckoned with the opinion of the self-proclaimed president of the Republic of Belarus.

However, the Ukrainian diplomat notes that Lukashenko will try to the last to avoid the intervention of the Belarusian army in the war.

"For us, this is just another reason to think about whether everything is ready to repel Russian aggression from the territory of Belarus. And for Lukashenko, it is a reason to think about what will happen to him after that, if this happens. I think that this is what is decisive in his current position, and he will not be in a hurry to side with the aggressor in a direct invasion, and will delay as much as possible. But if this happens, he will say that he is useless when it comes to his co-responsibility before a specialized international tribunal ", Ogryzko explained.

The role of Belarus in the war against Ukraine

On February 24, the Russian army of occupation moved from the territory of Belarus to Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russians began to demand the surrender of Ukraine and scheduled a meeting for this in Belarus.

Belarus has been supporting Russia since the first days of the war: this state has provided its territory for the offensive and is handing over weapons to the Russian Federation.

In recent days, there has been renewed talk about the threat of an attack from Belarus, since the dictator Putin and his ministers - Shoigu and Lavrov - arrived there.
